About the Longhunter Society

The Longhunter Society exists to preserve and document the achievements of hunters who pursue game using traditional weapons and methods. Through the Longhunter Record Book, the Society recognizes notable harvests taken with historic sporting arms and traditional equipment.

The Record Book

The Longhunter Record Book was created to honor the accomplishments of hunters who continue the traditions of the past. These records represent not only remarkable harvests, but the skills, patience, and discipline required to hunt using historic methods.

Beginning August 1, 2026, the record book will recognize multiple traditional hunting disciplines, ensuring that each style of historic hunting is preserved and properly documented.

Preserving the Tradition

The Longhunter Society is dedicated to keeping the traditions of historic hunting alive. By documenting these accomplishments and sharing the knowledge behind them, the Society helps ensure that the skills and heritage of traditional hunting continue for future generations.

If you hunt the old way, you belong here.
